Praise Song: "Flow to You"

This week's Praise Song is Bishop Paul Morton's "Flow to You". What an inspiring song!! All of our praise & worship should be flowing to God! We should be giving our ALL to Him!!!

I pray this song blesses you.

Until next time.

Daily Scriptures 4/30/12

Scriptures: Psalm 73:1-2 1Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. 2But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. (NIV)

Nugget: I thank God everyday for being so good to me. I’m learning to count all blessings, both what I would consider big & those I would consider small. Everything from God is “big”!

Lately, I’ve been going through difficult & stressful times; the thing is, I’ve done my best to focus on God & His plans during all of this. “My feet had almost slipped”, but they didn’t because God is always present & always in control.

God is good to those who are pure in heart; our hearts should seek Him daily, regardless of what we’re experiencing & what is going on. He’s too good not to take care of us!

Quote: “There is nothing, indeed, which God will not do for a man who dares to step out upon what seems to be the mist; though as he puts his foot down he finds a rock beneath him.” -F. B. Meyer

Another 5K Run & Other Health Info

I completed another 5K Run today!  Very proud of myself!  I knocked 5 minutes off my last 5K Run time.  Yay!!  Very excited about this; definitely improving as time goes on.  Also, I recently purchased a pair of good running shoes.  So yep, definitely getting ready for the Disney Princess Half Marathon next year!!

On another health note, I recently completed the Made to Crave class at church.  An awesome & amazing class.  I highly recommend reading the book (&/or taking the class if you have a chance).  The book is by Lysa TerKeurst; it's definitely not a diet book!  It's about a lifestyle change.  It's a reminder that God is concerned about all areas of our lives---including our health & the foods we eat.  Definitely check it out when you get a chance.

I continue to challenge you to be the best you & to do the best you can to step outside of any box you may have put yourself in.  God continually seeks for us to grow & to learn.  Each day is an opportunity for us to do this!!

Until next time.

Daily Scriptures 4/16/12

Scripture: Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (NIV)

Nugget: A friend sent me this scripture as a word of encouragement due to things I’ve been experiencing lately. This scripture is/was right on time. What powerful & much needed words.

No matter what we’re going through & what we’re facing, God is our strength & protects us; He’s our constant help. The thing is, we have to know this, feel this, & have faith that God can do all things & more. Through Him, we’re more powerful than we could ever imagine.

Allow your heart & mind to focus on God; continue to praise Him through your circumstances.

Quote: "Faith is like an empty, open hand stretched out towards God, with nothing to offer and everything to receive." - John Calvin

Daily Scriptures 4/11/12

Scripture: II Corinthians 5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. (NKJV)

Nugget: This scripture reminds me of the saying, “What would Jesus do?” We should make it our aim to have our actions, thoughts, deeds, words, etc. be pleasing to Him. Anything outside of this is usually going in the wrong direction.

Think today & act today in ways that are pleasing to Him; make it your goal to act how Jesus expects us to act, do the things He’d want you to do, & think, “What would Jesus do?”

Quote: “Hang that question up in your houses, “What would Jesus do?” and then think of another, “How would Jesus do it?” for what He would do, and how He would do it, may always stand as the best guide to us.” -Charles Spurgeon

The past few weeks or so have definitely been challenging work-wise. There are a lot of changes going on, but change in inevitable, right? Through these challenges, I’m continuing to count blessings, no matter what.

This has also gotten me to think & to focus on God & what He’s doing, all He has done, & what’s on the way. I think that God allows us to go through various things in order for us to be reminded of Him & how far we’ve come. I also think that, at times, this can be a reality check for us to see the direction we want to go in & what we’re trying to do in our futures--a reality check on our purpose & if we’re walking in it.

Some of what has been occurring in my life recently is a true reminder about living in the purpose God has for me. For instance, what do I continue to put on the “back burner” for later? Who do I need to contact? What am I waiting on? What am I doing to make things happen? For as we all know, time is precious & we can’t get it back.

I challenge you to do an evaluation of where you are & where you’re trying to go. Are you taking the steps to get there? Are you on the track to achieving that dream you always wanted to or are you waiting for the right time? (Which could be right now, by the way)

I definitely want to walk in the purpose God has for me & in the gifts that He’s instilled in me. I thank God for the challenges He has placed before me because it has been an eye-opening experience regarding using my gifts & not sitting back on what He has called me to do.

Don’t waste your gifts or the time it will take for you to achieve them; time is of the essence & God wants us to use it to the fullest!

Until next time.

Daily Scriptures 4/9/12

Scripture: Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. (NKJV)

Nugget: You never know who God will bring into your path; I always say, “Everything happens for a reason.” Some of the same people that God brings into your path, are ones you’re to let know about our Lord & Savior. Others could be angels that He sends our way to instill something in us.

The “strangers” we meet could impact us more than we’ll ever realize (and vice versa). You never know God’s complete plan, but don’t underestimate those we meet & those He allows to cross our paths!

Quote: “Remember, angels are both God's messengers and God's message, witness to eternity in time, to the presence of the divine amidst the ordinary. Every moment of every day is riddled by their traces.” -F. Forrester Church

Praise Song: "Empty Me"

This week's Praise Song is William Murphy's "Empty Me".  Our Praise Team sung this song on Sunday at church.  What a reflection on allowing God to empty us of anything that's not like Him.  We should strive to be more like Him in all areas of our lives.

May God continue to empty us; blessings us to be more like Him.  Thank you, Jesus!

Until next time.
