Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!!

No matter what you might be facing today, there’s always something to be thankful for. This is definitely a lesson that I’ve learned over the past few years. Just being alive today is a blessing; being able to spend time with friends & family is a gift.

"It is not Happy people who are Thankful. It is Thankful people who are Happy. Thanksgiving is everyday." -Unknown

Live today to the fullest & be thankful in all things---this is my prayer for you!

Until next time.

Daily Scriptures 11/21/14

Scripture: Jeremiah 1:8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD. (NIV)

Nugget: God had given Jeremiah specific tasks to do in which Jeremiah’s responses were “I’m too young” and “I don’t know how to speak.” God’s answer was that He would be with Jeremiah & for Jeremiah not to be afraid---God would be with Him.

How many times has God told us to do something, to step out on faith & the strength that can only come from Him, & our response be that we couldn’t do it? How many times has God promised to be with us from beginning to end, but we still let fear keep us from His promises?

We shouldn’t let fear or doubt overshadow what God has put in us to do; or keep us from the things that He’s specifically asked us to do. With God telling us to step out on faith, with Him, the strength to complete anything is with us as well.

Quote: “Frequently remind yourself that God is with you, that He will never fail you, that you can count upon Him. Say these words, "God is with me, helping me." -Norman Vincent Peale

Daily Scriptures 11/19/14

Scripture: Deuteronomy 30:19 Today I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses. I am offering you life or death, blessings or curses. Now, choose life! Then you and your children may live. (NCV)

Nugget: Every day that God grants us to see is a gift of life. What we choose to do with these days are up to us. We can mope around, be discouraged, & not appreciate the gift we have; or we can do the opposite, be happy, be encouraged, & show appreciation throughout the day.

We have choice regarding how we react to the things & people that we face each day. As the day passes & time goes on, be careful who & what you give your time & energy to. Don’t let the gift of today be wasted.

Quote: “Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something.” –Ralph Marston

Daily Scriptures 11/17/14

Scriptures: Romans 8:24-25 24We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have. 25But we are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. (NCV)

Nugget: Faith & trust—these go hand-in-hand when we’re praying & seeking something from God. True faith is being able to have hope in the things we do not see & knowing that God is working things out for our good. There may be things, people, family members, & circumstances that we’ve prayed about for years, feeling as if there is nothing happening; but we have to know that God is working it out.

Hope doesn’t occur for the things we already have; these things are right in front of us. The things that we wait for God to answer us on are what keep us connected to Him, praying consistently, & awaiting His promise.

Continue to seek Him, waiting patiently for His answer & direction.

Quote: “God makes a promise. Faith believes it. Hope anticipates it. Patience quietly awaits it.” -Unknown

Daily Scriptures 11/14/14

Scripture: Proverbs 22:11 One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the king for a friend. (NIV)

Nugget: One of my favorite sayings is, “treat people like you want to be treated.” We definitely wouldn’t want to be treated in a manner that we wouldn’t want reflected upon us. To love with a pure, open heart & to speak with grace are things that I continue to try to do.

I believe these things allow for me to be the person & friend that God wants me to be; additionally, what I put out there is reflected back to me with those who surround me. Love, grace, mercy, & true people around us are all something that we seek.

Quote: "Those whose hearts are pure are temples of the Holy Spirit." -St. Lucy

Daily Scriptures 11/12/14

Scripture: Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (NIV)

Nugget: An everlasting, unconditional, love--this is the kind of love God has for us. No matter what we do or say, God’s love for us is unfailing. Even when we haven’t forgiven ourselves for things we’ve said or done, God has already forgiven us.

Continually connect with God & the love that He has for you. Don’t ever doubt the endlessness of His love.

Quote: “I’m not perfect but I have a perfect God, that’s loves me perfectly.” -Unknown

Daily Scriptures 11/10/14

Scriptures: Jude 1:20-21 20But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (NKJV)

Nugget: Our walk with God is a continuous process, with continual growth. Daily, we have to renew our minds in Him in order to face what’s coming our way, what we already have on our plates, & even the things of the past. This daily renewal constitutes us praying, reading, & getting so close to God that we know His love & mercy will guide us through.

Keep yourself in the love of God; keep your faith strong. There’s no way to do this without knowing God for yourself & having the closest relationship with Him as possible. Don’t go a day without talking to Him & spending time with Him; this is the most important relationship we have.

Quote: “The most important thing for me is having a relationship with God. To know that the owner, the creator of the universe loves you, sent His Son to die for your sins; that's very empowering. Knowing Him and knowing that He loves me gives me encouragement and confidence to move forward.” –Benjamin Carson

Daily Scriptures 11/7/14

Scripture: Psalm 89:46 How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire? (NIV)

Nugget: There are many things that I’ve gone through, & some things that I continue to go through, in which I ask God, “How long with this go on?” These circumstances & situations make me question if God is still there. These are the things that challenge my faith, but also develops it. I’ve learned from & prayed on these situations, which have furthered my growth in the Lord & my walk with Him.

Asking God questions is part of our walk & relationship with Him. However, His response may be to stretch us like we’ve never been stretched before; to challenge us like we haven’t been challenged before. He’s creating us into who He’s called us to be.

Quote: “God infused us with strength when He created us. Then He gives us challenges to see how much it has grown.” -Unknown

Daily Scriptures 11/6/14

Scripture: Micah 4:12 But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. (NIV)

Nugget: There are many things we do not understand that God is doing. He does not reveal His plans or final outcomes to us, but regardless, He knows what He’s doing. God does not need our help.

I continuously remind myself of this: I may not understand how things will work out, but I know that God is working it out. There’s nothing too big for Him.

Allow God to work in your situation; even if you don’t understand it all, He’s on the job!

Quote: “You are where God wants you to be at this very moment. Every experience is part of His divine plan.” -Unknown

Daily Scriptures 11/5/14

Scripture: Psalm 94:22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. (NIV)

Nugget: Many of us are experiencing challenges: physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually. Things can get overwhelming, to the point where we feel that we cannot go on. We’re seeking answers, praying, & waiting, but may wonder what God is doing in the midst of our circumstances.

During these times, as challenging as they may be, we must hold steadfast to what God can do & to who He is. He is our fortress & our rock; He is unmoving & strong. He wants to take the burdens from us, if we’ll just hand them over.

Give it all to God; He’s working all the time.

Quote: “God is not an option. He is necessary.” -Unknown

Daily Scriptures 11/4/14

Scripture: Proverbs 21:3 To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. (NIV)

Nugget: When we’re faced with challenges, sometimes the hardest thing is to do what’s right. Just thinking on those who challenge us on a daily basis (work, family, friends, etc.), is enough to make us want to get outside of ourselves & the actions God wants us to take. But we must press on & look to God.

In the daily on goings of life, we must strive to do what’s acceptable in God’s eyes. Let us do what’s right & just; God can & will handle the rest (& so much more!).

Quote: “Your current circumstances are part of your redemption story He is writing.” -Evinda Lepins

Daily Scriptures 11/3/14

Scripture: Proverbs 16:32 Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. (NIV)

Nugget: In most cases, having patience is the best answer. We have the tendency to want to rush God or to question where He is in certain things that we’re praying on, but these things are attached to His timing & His will.

Stepping outside of, or in front of, God & what He’s doing could be detrimental to what He’s trying to do. We don’t want to take over & remove self-control; the results of these actions put on us the wrong path.

Let us have patience in God; knowing that He’s working things out for our good.

Quote: “Just because something isn’t happening for you right now doesn’t mean it will never happen.” -Unknown
